I want you to turn your attention to the functional consequences of sin as a Christian. Or, to say it another way, turn your attention to the practical penalties for sin as a Christian. I suspect that some of you might be thinking; I didn’t think Christians would sin. Not true! Every day most Christians are guilty of committing the crimes of omission or commission. This is not the type of message that I preach often. However, from time to time, all of us needs to hear again, what we heard when we accepted salvation, why we accepted salvation, and how to keep our salvation. This sermon addresses the appearance of non-Christians being blessed. Sinners are not blessed by Satan in the way we traditionally define a "blessing." In most scriptural contexts (particularly Judeo-Christian), a "blessing" implies a gift that is inherently good, holy, and intended for the recipient's ultimate well-being. Scriptures generally presents Satan’s "gifts" as transactional, deceptive, or temporary enticements, lures or traps rather than true blessings. This sermon presents the loving warnings of Jesus—what He says happens if we refuse to do what is right.
