The NHL regular season is in the final stretch and while that sucks, it also means Playoff hockey is around the corner! You can feel it too, as this past week was another wild one. We saw tempers flaring around the league, Marchand with a nasty chirp, some big hits and scrums from the Detroit Reds Wings vs Florida Panthers, Montreal Canadiens vs Nashville Predators and especially in that Washington Capitals vs Carolina Hurricanes game where we had 8 misconducts! This week, we of course witness NHL history as Alex Ovechkin officially passed Wayne Gretzky’s 894 goal record scoring 895 against the New York Islanders. We had duelling hat tricks in Dallas Stars vs Pittsburgh Penguins between Sidney Crosby and Evgenii Dadonov, a 5 point night from David Pastrnak and some amazing saves from guys like Swayman and Ersson. The St.Louis Blues got on a 12 game winning streak to break a franchise record while Cale Makar scored his 30th of the season to become the first in 16 years and Lane Hutson getting to 64 points, tied Chris Chelios for the Montreal Canadiens franchise record.
