A hands on review of a Chairmaker's Pullshave that can be used for shaping and smoothing windsor chair seats. This tool is a cross between a travisher and a scorp or inshave, and in this review I look at its general build quality, and try it out on a windsor chair seat to see how it performs. This tool is very well made with a nicely machined blade bed and cap iron, has fine adjusters, and a nice thick blade. In use it takes a bit of getting used to, but is very well designed, and I can see that I will get more of a feel for it fairly quickly. It has a nicely curved sole that is not too shallow or too extreme. My overall impression is that I will continue to do much of the initial roughing out with one of my travishers (see one of my other videos on how to make one), and this tool will be excellent for getting a very good clean up and finish on a chair seat. I do not have any vested interest in Veritas / Lee Valley, and I paid full price for this tool, so that's blown the budget! Anyway take a look at the video, and as always its great to get your thoughts on this tool / the review in the comments below. Thanks Harry
