In this video, Host Dr. Mariana Martinez interviews Dr. Robert Noone, PhD, and Dr. Daniel Papero, Ph.D., LCSW. Both are faculty members of the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family. Bowen family systems theory is a work in progress. Enriching and expanding the theory has been the goal of current Bowen thinkers like Dr. Noone and Dr. Papero. They discuss the publication of their new edited book, “The Family Emotional System: An Integrative Concept for Theory, Science, and Practice”. Dr. Bowen’s goal was to develop a science of the human and human behavior by relating to the natural sciences, rather than falling into a subjective belief system. The Bowen Center is a non for profit dedicated to the development of Bowen family systems theory into a science of human behavior; to assist individuals, families, communities, and organizations in addressing major life changes through understanding and improvising human relationships. The center carries out its mission locally, nationally, and internationally through training and online programs, conferences, research, clinical services, and its website and publications. The Bowen Center for the Study of the Family is an educational, research, and clinical center incorporated as a 501©(3) tax-exempt organization in the District of Columbia.
