"Hov Arek Sarer Jan" is the first music video from our new album "HYPNOS", which will be released on June 6, 2025. It's a free interpretation of a beautiful traditional Armenian song. Almost like a pagan prayer, this song summons the elements to take away our sorrows (cf. lyrics below). We discovered this song thanks to Jordi Savall's exceptional album "Esprit d'Arménie", whom discovered it from the work of Komitas, a priest and ethnomusicologist from the XIXth century. Komitas collected more than 3,000 traditional songs from Armenia and beyond and thus became a major figure in Armenian culture. C'est une interprétation libre d'une magnifique chanson traditionnelle arménienne. Telle une prière, presque païenne, ce chant convoque les éléments pour emporter nos chagrins (cf. paroles ci-dessous). Nous avons découvert cette chanson grâce « Esprit d'Arménie », album magistral de Jordi Saval, qui l'a lui même découverte grâce aux travaux de Komitas, prêtre et ethnomusicologue du XIXe siècle.
