How Are STEEL PROFILES Made? | Angle Bars, C-Channels, U-Profiles

[Sponsored by PROFIL NR] In this episode, we take a closer look at how steel profiles are made—key components in many products. We visited the PROFIL NR plant in Wojkowice to see the production process of open profiles, welded profiles, and pipes. The process begins in the design office, where tools for profiling are prepared. Computer programs assess the quality of the tools before they are physically manufactured. Once approved, the tools are made from cut sections of steel bars. After drilling holes, the tools go through lathes and grinders to achieve precise shapes. On the slitting line, steel sheets are cut into strips of various widths. The strips then enter the profile forming line, where they pass through 30 stations for shaping, straightening, and drying from emulsions. The finished profiles are cut with a guillotine, packed, and shipped. Another production line uses hydraulic presses to perforate the strip before profiling. This line produces profiles for the heating, ventilation, and refrigeration industries, as well as sanitary systems. PROFIL NR offers over 500 different steel profile shapes.
