The renovation includes an extension, insulation and fitting underfloor heating, air source heat pump and mechanical heat recovery system. Update: I forgot to mention, the floor covering downstairs looks like wood, but it's actually porcelain wood effect tiles. Tile floor covering was chosen to have the best heat transfer from the UFH. The flow temperature of the UFH would need to be increased and therefore reducing HP efficiency if a more insulating floor covering was used e.g wood or carpet.
