Geronimo is another of the canyons on the other side of the Wollangambie River, like all of these, it has a fun scramble up out of the river at Horseshoe Bend. This access track is shared with Horseshoe Canyon, being so close together, a lot of people combine the two in a day. The access track can be a little indistinct up from the Wollangambie and up across the top, we had no issues and could follow it easily. The final descent, down to the creek, can be quite steep in places, so watch your footing. Depending on where you enter the creek, there is a large, flat rock under an overhang that provides a convenient place to gear up, as your first abseil in a minute or two downstream. a map of the basic location is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/oLAVqTfPRe9et... This is a fairly short canyon, quite pretty in places, but not as dark and twisting as others at Mount Wilson. Very much still worth doing, of course! This canyon got its name from Glen Robinson jumping the third abseil and yelling Geronimo, or so legend says... We chose not to do this as a jump, but a fun abseil. There is nothing in this canyon that is particularly challenging, and should be easy enough for most experience levels. I believe we took a 40mtr rope which was more than long enough. Fast parties could do this one in a cruisy half day, we took longer with filming and enjoying.
