Hey crew, it's Allen Burt form Blue Stout and I want to talk to you about HOW TO REDUCE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION CHURN RATE. I just got off a call with a client - it's a low 8 figure, high end skin care company - and the topic of the call was how can we set up systems to reduce the number of customers that are churning or "unsubscribing" from their subscription program. So I want to share with you the 3 strategies we discussed, so you can apply them to your business. And, as always, if you want to go deeper on this topic, then head over to bluestout.com/strategy and book a strategy call with myself and my team - that's bluestout.com/strategy 1) Pre-Arrival Expectation Setting Nothing kills subscription faster than poorly setting expectations on WHAT you will get, WHEN you will get it, and HOW you need to use it. Set expectations with your customer before their first shipment arrives. You don't want them to open the box and be disappointed Free gifts and samples are a good way to over deliver 2) Post Arrival Adoption If a customer doesn't adopt the product, meaning actually put it to use, then will cancel quickly after the next shipment arrives. Use email as first line of defense to education customers and give them concrete ways to start using the product immediately i.e. - if you are selling subscription baking products, then give them recipes they can bake with immediately 3) Average Subscription Lifetime and Peak Churn time Look at your historical subscription data to determine the peak points that your customers churn - 1 moth, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months. etc. Then set up specific email flows to target customers that are nearing this peak churn times, with content that reinforces a) your value propositions b) justifies the product with social proof or customer success stories c) and gives them practical ways to use the product to increase adoption. The comment theme in all of the above, is that automated email flows are you first line of defense for setting this up and reducing churn. So if you found any of this helpful and want to dive deeper, then head over to bluestout.com/strategy and book a call time. We'll spend 30 minutes going deep into your business and finding areas of opportunity to improve revenue from your existing traffic and existing customers.
