Hello everyone around the world! I’m Jo, living in Japan with my cat Macchou 🐈🇯🇵 I recently decided to start cooking dishes from around the world in my Japanese home kitchen. But there are still so many Scottish dishes I’d love to try… So today, I’m making another Scottish meal! This time, I’m cooking Salmon Cullen Skink — a Scottish soup made my way, using ingredients I can find here in Japan. Cullen Skink is said to be named after a small town called Cullen in Scotland, and “skink” is apparently an old Scots word for soup. I hope to try the authentic version in Scotland someday! Thank you for being here and cooking with me live 🌍✨ — I also just uploaded a vlog — I’d love for you to watch it! I picked up some ice cream at 7-Eleven and enjoyed a little break. 🍦✨ • 【Vlog】My Filming Day Routine |Rice Hot Dog... — Thank you for being here! 🎥 jo_macchou Live • jo_macchou Live ーーーーー 🛒 Ingredients (Serves 1–2) 1 fillet of fresh salmon (unsalted if possible) 1 potato 1/2 onion 200 ml unsweetened soy milk 200 ml water 10 g butter A pinch of salt Black pepper to taste Optional: chopped parsley for garnish 🌿 👩🍳 Instructions (Simple & Live-Friendly) Cut the potato into small cubes. Slice the onion thinly. Cut the salmon into large pieces (remove the skin if you prefer). In a pot, melt the butter and sauté the onion over medium-low heat until soft and translucent. Add the water and potatoes. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Add the salmon and cook for about 5 minutes. (Be gentle so it doesn’t fall apart too much.) Lower the heat and add the soy milk. ⚠️ Do not let it boil. Season with salt. Serve and enjoy 🥣✨ “This is my Japanese-style Cullen Skink, made with salmon and soy milk.”
