Cafe Racer Transformation: GSXR Forks on a CB750! Test Fitting the GSXR Front Forks • Honda CB750 Cafe Racer 1978 OHC Having refitted the bottom spacer washers provided, a total of 5mm we test fit the forks themselves and bolt up the entire front end so the Honda can stand on its own two feet again. After installing the lower bearing on the tree/yoke and lower race in the frame, we now have a little too much clearance of the yoke so we are going to remove the bearing yet again and reduce the washer to just the 2mm in order to resolve that situation. This will give us another 3mm at the top end of the main stem at the top in order to fit the top nut only to secure the whole yoke and forks. Did a little tidy up of the steering stops with an angle grinder and while I was at it, tidied up the rear frame a little too where we had chopped of some of the original seat mounting frame. 00:00 This Fork Swap Changes EVERYTHING – CB750 Cafe Racer Build 00:29 Fitting Custom Cafe Racer Fuel Tank 02:33 Custom Painting Cafe Racer Fuel Tank 03:34 Front Fork Conversion Bearings 06:37 Front Fork Conversion 07:30 Test Fit Triple Tree Yoke 14:16 Fitting Clip On Bars Handlebars Swapping forks on a motorcycle can be a challenging task, but it is possible with the right tools and knowledge. Here are the general steps involved in swapping forks: 1. Research: Before swapping forks, you should research the new fork you plan to install and make sure it will fit your motorcycle frame and wheel. You may need to change other parts, such as the triple tree or wheel axle, to accommodate the new fork. 2. Remove the old forks: You will need to remove the old forks from your motorcycle. This typically involves removing the front wheel, brake calipers, handlebars, and any other parts that attach to the fork. You will also need to remove the fork from the triple tree. 3. Install the new forks: Once you have removed the old forks, you can install the new forks. This involves installing the fork in the triple tree, attaching the front wheel, and connecting the brake calipers. 4. Adjust the new forks: Once the new forks are installed, you will need to adjust them to match the geometry of your motorcycle. This involves adjusting the fork height, fork angle, and preload. 5. Test ride: Before riding your motorcycle with the new forks, you should test ride it to ensure that everything is working properly. Check the handling, steering, and braking to make sure the new forks are working as intended. It's important to note that swapping forks can affect the handling and performance of your motorcycle, so you should make sure you understand the changes you are making and how they will impact your ride. If you are not comfortable performing this task, it is recommended that you seek the help of a professional mechanic. #caferacer #caferacerproject #custommotorcycle
