This boat ride through Mangroves of Gangolly River was filmed on Sunday, 6th March 2022. This beach is a little less known and hence clean and serene. However, this wonderful #Boatride through serene mangrove forests has become the new attraction for tourists visiting Kundapur in the Udupi district. This place is situated in Kodi, #kundapura - usually called Kodi Delta point. The ideal time to visit the place and to take the boat ride (which costs around INR 2000 - INR 3000) would be early in the morning to hear the rhythmic chirping of birds. As it rains heavily during monsoon, avoid visits between June - September. UVA Meridian Bay Resort (where we stayed & it was an awesome place) is situated very near to #KodiDeltapoint. People do visit Kodi Delta Point and its surroundings for Eco-tourism which include wildlife watching, and recreational activities like kayaking, boating, and trekking. Nearby beaches are very less crowded (Currently) and less spoiled and can offer you some good time for solitude - #beachtherapy #beach . The backwaters of the Gangolly River (or Panchagangavali river) in Kodi, Kundapur, with a profusion of mangrove forests, have recently become an eco-tourism hotspot, which is just 8 hour of drive from Bangalore - an ideal 2-day #touristgetawayfromBangalore. In addition to this clean, serene beach, the district of Udupi offers various beautiful tourist destinations - including spiritual tourism. #udupi Kodi beach surroundings and the Mangrove Boatrisde are simply stunning and offer a really good time of quiet and peace. Experience the real green world! Location: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/12.92... As per The Indian Expres article: "The mangroves of Paduvari in Byndoor taluk look spectacular when seen from the Ottinene area, appearing like floating islands of green. These evergreen forests also sequester a lot more carbon from the atmosphere than tropical forests are salt-tolerant, and check the salty wind blowing from the ocean, thereby saving crops and soil along the coast. The mangrove species in the region are Rhizophora mucronata, Avicenniaceae, Bruguiera, and Sonneratiaceae Sonneratia, among others. Systematic afforestation by the forest department has led to an increase in mangroves over the past decade, providing ‘nursing homes for a variety of fish and bird species, Reddy added. Mangrove seedlings are planted when the water level goes down and sand dunes become visible during April and May. FLOATING FORESTS: Seen in Kodi, Jalady, Anagalli, Uppinakudru, Paduvari, Koderi, Sasthana, and Udyavara regions of the Udupi district Species: Rhizophora mucronata, Avicenniaceae, Bruguiera, Sonneratiaceae Sonneratia Birds: White-bellied sea eagle, brown-headed gull, grey heron, white-breasted kingfisher Spread over 600 hectares" #getaway #weekendtrip #bengaluru #Bengalurugetaway #kundapura #kodi #boatride #kayakingadventures
