#ChevroletEquinoxEV #electricSUV #roadtrip My trip to “The Maggies,” as they are locally known, began in Canada’s smallest province: Prince Edward Island. With 61 lighthouses dotted along its jagged and irregular coastline, you’ll never be farther than 30 km from a lighthouse, no matter where you stand in the province. The first lighthouse of our trip was Seacow Head, an amazing timber-framed octagonal lighthouse standing 60 ft tall atop some striking red sandstone bluffs. Seacow Head boasts more than just a funny name and an adjacent ice cream shop: it has got to be home to the most scenic EV car charger in Canada. Plugged into that charger is my choice of vehicle for this road trip: a Chevrolet Equinox EV. The Equinox is Chevrolet's most affordable EV offering (during the hiatus of the Bolt EV, which was recently confirmed as canceled) and also its most popular. For the Canadian market, all Equinox EVs use the same 85 kWh battery which is good for 513 km of range for FWD models, and 494 km for AWD models like ours. Our top-trim RS tester was painted a distinctive shade of red which Chevy refers to as Habanero Orange; this paint colour contrasted against all the classic red/white lighthouses very nicely.
