Sustainable, Regenerative and Resilient Coastal and Marine Tourism — Our Ocean Panama side event

Members of the Ocean Panel and other leading global experts will share their experiences in innovating for a more sustainable, regenerative and resilient coastal and marine tourism sector. Participants will explore the concrete actions that can be taken by governments and industry, now and ahead of the UN Ocean Conference in 2025, to support the transition of this critically important sector. Many inspiring stories have emerged over the past few years from coastal and marine destinations, providing examples of innovation and diversification to provide the foundation for a strong, sustainable and resilient tourism sector for the future. Increasingly, destinations and private sector operators are seeing the value created in investing in the natural and cultural assets that the tourism economy relies upon. By doing so, coastal and marine tourism can provide the foundation for sustainable ocean economies while also delivering on the goals of the Paris Agreement, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals.
