Gutter water was not draining properly and started flooding around my garage foundation, which is a serious problem no homeowner wants to ignore. In this video, I show how I unclogged a buried drain pipe under my concrete driveway slab using basic DIY tools and problem-solving — and saved a lot of money doing it myself. At first, I tried using a drain auger from Home Depot, but it didn’t work. That’s when I decided to track down the end of the drain pipe, digging through the lawn until I found the buried PVC pipe. Once exposed, I discovered the real issue — the pipe was packed with mud, debris, and invasive tree roots, creating a permanent blockage. To fix it, I removed the gutter, inserted a water hose to loosen the soil inside the pipe, and used a long metal bar to break up the compacted dirt. After pulling out a massive root clog, water immediately started flowing again, and the drain was finally cleared. I also reshaped the lawn to create better drainage flow away from the driveway. This was a very hard job, especially the digging and root removal, but it was absolutely worth it. If you’re a new homeowner or DIY beginner, this video shows that fixing things yourself can save serious money, and homeownership always comes with repairs. 👉 If you’re dealing with: A clogged driveway drain Gutter water flooding your foundation Tree roots blocking drainage pipes DIY drainage or plumbing problems This video is for you. 👍 Like, comment, and subscribe for more real-world DIY home repairs and beginner-friendly renovation tips.
