Documenting my ceramics journey and slow living on the Suffolk coast. This chapter continues my exploration of tableware, textures, and forms shaped in small fragments of time. I begin with a mug, testing how a familiar surface language behaves on a different shape, how the same texture shifts when the form changes. A slow attempt to bring coherence to the pieces I’m making. Between busy days, I move on to an organic candle holder. A form shaped in borrowed minutes, changing each time I return to it. When too much time passes, the clay reminds me of its limits: resisting the tools, asking me to accept what stays unfinished. Not every piece needs resolving; some are lessons in letting go. I’m learning balance between intention and allowance, between reaching forward and simply observing what the material offers. Each experiment a small step toward understanding how clay, texture, and daily life weave into one another.
