T.J. Bass (Thomas J. Bassler, 1932–2011) primarily published his science fiction in Galaxy Science Fiction and Worlds of If magazines during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Known for his "Hive" series, which was later expanded into two novels: Half Past Human and The Godwhale. Here are the magazine stories that I have: @sfwordsofwonder Star Itch - 53 page novelette Worlds of If, September 1968 Cover by Mckenna Star Seeder - 22 page short story continuation of "Star Itch" 6 generations later. Worlds of If, September 1969 Cover by Chaffee Half Past Human 116 page novel. Galaxy December 1969 Cover by Jack and Phoebe Gaughan The later"Half Past Human" novel (1971) was a fix-up novel of "Half Past Human” (1969) and "G.I.T.A.R." (1970] (or "Song of Kaia") from Worlds of If, November–December 1970, which I do not have. Bassler also wrote 3 more SF works that I do not have: A Game of Biochess Worlds of If, February 1970 The Beast of 309 Worlds of If, January-February 1971 Rorqual Maru Galaxy Science Fiction, January-February 1972 "The Godwhale"(1974) was expanded from Rorqual Maru. Bassler may have written a piece titled "The Thing with Feathers" But, I could not verify that.
