Holmby Hills Los Angeles Episode 80 Holmby Hills, along with Bel Air and Beverly Hills form the "Platinum Triangle" of Los Angeles. Holmby Hills is bordered by the city of Beverly Hills on the east, Wilshire Boulevard on the south, Westwood on the west, and Bel Air on the north. The absence of sidewalks and the presence of historic streetlamps are unique to Holmby Hills and help to distinguish it from the remainder of Westwood. Shrubbery is another predominant feature of Holmby Hills as most of the neighborhood is shrouded behind gates and greenery. The former Playboy mansion (01:57) may be the most famous property in Holmby Hills but we won’t see much of that besides the gate and shrubs. The former home of Humphrey Bogart and wife, Lauren Bacall is located at 232 South Mapleton Drive (03:02) but we won’t see much of it beyond the address marker. (The house was also previously owned by Hedy Lamarr) Bing Crosby once lived at 594 South Mapleton Drive (06:25) as did Aaron Spelling and his wife Candy Spelling as well as their two children Tori Spelling and Randy Spelling. The 594 South Mapleton property is known as ‘The Manor’ and is a 56,500 square feet French chateau-style mansion with 123 rooms (with 27 bathrooms and 14 bedrooms) on 4.6 acres of land. The Manor is as big as a football field and has two driveways, it is also bigger than both the White House and the Taj Mahal… and you guessed it, beyond the front gate, we’re not gonna see much of that either. (I did however use a photo of The Manor as the thumbnail for this video, so you’d at least get an idea of what it looked like) I guess the best way to describe Holmby Hills is that it’s got some of the nicest houses we’ll probably never see.
