The RB-RSSA-8 delivers precise and repeatable surface treatment in a package that offers tremendous flexibility in lean manufacturing and high- productivity blast cleaning and surface preparation work. A mid-sized 6-axis robot can be matched with a single- spindle rotary blast machine. One suction-blast gun or pressure-blast nozzle is robotically manipulated as the fixtured component is rotated at controlled and adjustable speed. If required, the spindle, with up to a 42- inch diameter table, can be servomotor-driven and controlled as a 7th axis of robotic motion. The robotic nozzle manipulator maintains the correct angle of media impingement, the exact offset distance from blast nozzle to target surface and the specified feed rate or surface speed at every moment during the blast cycle, even as it follows the contours of complex-shaped components. Guyson's custom-tailored protective skirt seals the blast chamber, fits snugly around the "business end" of the robot arm and allows the full range of robotic motion as it isolates the precision manipulator from the potentially abrasive and dusty blasting environment. The RB-RSSA-8 is compatible with all types of blasting media, and the media delivery and reclamation system can be adapted based on specifics of your application, so this model is suitable for a variety of finishing, shot peening or surface prep operations. The system's PLC can be set-up to store and recall the blast process parameters and the automated blasting routines for dozens and dozens of different components. A roll-away transfer cart is available optionally to simplify loading and unloading of heavy components.
