Zig Zag Progression Throwing Drill: This is a great and easy drill to implement into your practice plan to help you work on developing and building foundation for short underhand tosses, dart throws and full length throws in a progression format. Getting all those needed reps in, for proper throws. * Setup of Drill: Setup your players into 2 groups. To start have 6 pylons on one side for one team and another 6 pylons for the other team laid out in a zig zag format. An an additional 6 further out and an additional 6 even further out for both sides for each team. You will have a total of 12 pylons on each side. 2 Coaches will have a bucket on the same side with the same amount of balls in each bucket. Other side, coaches will have an empty bucket each. * Step 1: Someone says go and both coaches for each team will underhand toss one ball at a time the first player and will under hand toss down the line on their team in a zig zag format, until tall the balls get to the other side of that coaches bucket. When all the balls have been transferred over, that coach start that process over and transfer all the balls back the other way still doing under hand toss throws until all the balls end up on the other sides coaches bucket. When that’s done, the under hand toss drill is complete. * Step 2: Have 3 players move back to the middle pylon on both sides and start the drill all over but now that your a little farther, they will be doing Dart Throws to each other transferring all the balls to one side and then back over to where they started. * Step 3: After the Dart Throws drill is complete. Have 3 more players move back to the farthest pylon on both sides. Now your players will be at the farthest pylon and doing full throws zig zag to each other, transferring all the balls from one end to the other and back. * Rules of Drill/Game: After you’ve gone through all 3 progression throws and your players get a feel for how all the drills work, you can turn into a game. Teams will go head to head doing the same thing but as soon as the under hand toss drill is completed, they go straight to the dart throw drill and then the full length throws until the balls end up in the bucket with the coach who started. First team to do this wins the game. * These drills really help hone in on developing different types of throws and building that foundation and getting a lot of repetitions in 🥎🥎🥎#softball #SoftballDrills #EasySoftballDrills #Softball #SoftballPracticeDrills #FunSoftballDrills #throwingdrills, #underhandtossdrill #dartthrowtossdrill
