Thank you for watching our 2007-2016 Hyundai Genesis rear bumper cover removal video. This bumper is a bit weird because it has unnecessary clips and brackets in the middle, but it's nothing that can't be easily removed. Let us show you how! 0:00 Start 0:15 Intro 0:56 Tools needed 1:34 Fender liner separation 3:13 Lower bumper clip/bolts removal 5:22 Removing the tail light 8:21 Remove the clip under the tail light 8:34 2 hidden nuts for the rear bumper 11:17 Remove the hidden brackets 13:26 Disconnect the sensors 14:36 Quick recap 15:01 Outro Thank you for watching our Hyundai Genesis rear removal tutorial. This is the top-of-the-line Hyundai vehicle and it certainly feels like it. Our customer brought this car to us with a very badly painted rear bumper cover. The clear was completely peeled off and the bumper started to fade very badly. The customer asked for a new bumper and that is what we gave him. Learn how to take off this Genesis rear bumper cover. TOOLS NEEDED: You will need a screwdriver, a socket wrench with a 10mm socket, and a Philips screwdriver. There is a drill and rivet gun but that is for the bumper accessories replacement. You don't have to worry about the ton this removal video. PROCESS: We like to start with the fender flares now and again. We separated the fender flare from the rear bumper cover. This is only held on by 3 or small screws. In order to reach these screws, you may have to remove the wheel for better reach. We put a Phillips bit in our small socket wrench so we didn't have to remove the tire. We like to work smarter, not harder and we recommend it. We then moved to the bottom of the bumper and removed the clips and bolts. Our bolts were rusted and that sometimes happens but it's pretty rare. You cannot reuse a rusty bolt because the odds of it break are pretty high. The few bolts on the edge are plastic pins that you unscrew and they should be easy to remove. In order to access the top bumper bolts and clips, you have to remove the taillights. Hyundai loves to put clips and bolts underneath the tail lights to secure the bumper. Removing the taillight is not difficult but you do have to completely remove it. That alone is kind of annoying, we'd rather have bumpers that don't need the tail light taken out. There is a clip underneath the tail light and there are 2 nuts in the trunk where the tail light is located. Now you can begin to pop the bumper of the frame but you can't remove it just yet. With most bumpers, you would be able to but Hyundai thought it would be smart to put in extra clips and brackets. The bumper slides into slits in the middle which are held on by these rectangular metal clips. Also, there are 2 plastic brackets that attach the bumper to the frame in the middle as well. Get your 10mm socket and remove these two bolts. Now you can really begin to take the bumper off, no joke this time. You will have to disconnect the parking sensors, so be sure not to break those. Congratulations, you now know how to remove your Genesis bumper.
