Jose Gregorio Hernandez was a Venezuelan doctor with a deep devotion to the Catholic faith. He helped the poor for free and even paid for their medicines out of his own pocket. He was canonized on October 19, 2025. Born in Isnotú, Trujillo State, he became a highly renowned doctor, more so after his death. He was beatified by the Catholic Church in 2021, and his canonization was announced in early 2025.
