Penned by the great Sufi poet Pir Nasiruddin Nasir Gilani (Nasiruddin Nashir Sahib) r.a., this masterpiece reflects the soul’s longing for compassion, intercession, and nearness to the Beloved Messenger of God, Hajrat Mohammed Mustafa ﷺ. Pir Nasiruddin Nashir Sahib (r.a.) was not merely a poet — he was a spiritual guide, a lover of the Prophet ﷺ, and a voice of classical Sunni Sufi devotion. His kalams are known for their depth, humility, and profound love for the Ahl-e-Bayt (a.s.) and Sahaba (r.a.), while remaining firmly rooted in Sunnah. In this kalam, the poet does not demand — he pleads. He does not claim worthiness — he confesses helplessness. Yet within that humility lies unshakable hope. 📜 From the Kalam: “मुझ पे भी चश्म-ए-करम ऐ मेरे आक़ा करना हक़ तो मेरा भी है रहमत का तक़ाज़ा करना” Cast upon me too, O my Master, a glance of mercy — For I too have a share in longing for your compassion. “मैं एक ज़र्रा हूँ मुझे वुसअत-ए-सहरा दे-दे कि तेरे बस में है क़तरे को भी दरिया करना” I am but a particle of dust — grant me the vastness of a desert, For in your power even a drop may become an ocean. “मैं हूँ बेकस तेरा शेवा है सहारा देना मैं हूँ बीमार तेरा काम है अच्छा करना” I am helpless — and it is your way to provide support; I am ill — and healing is your noble task. The kalam culminates in a powerful vision of the Day of Judgment: “मुझ पे महशर में ‘नसीर’ उन की नज़र पड़ ही गई कहने वाले उसे कहते हैं ख़ुदा का करना” When, on the Day of Gathering, his blessed gaze falls upon me — People may call it destiny, but I will know it as the grace of God. This composition beautifully expresses the Sunni belief in Shafa’at (intercession), unwavering adherence to the Sunnah of Aal-o-Ashab(r.a.), and complete reliance upon divine mercy through the love of the Prophet ﷺ.
