'eyePhones' is a short film, original music and movement piece created by Adam Skinner and Ben Medder as part of a weekly series called. #60secondstudies. • • • An unintentional contemporary dance and weird movement partner games duet.The initial idea was to shoot this all on iPhones (in case you hadn't guessed) and to play with the idea of taking a close up shoot of our eyes and then play back the said shot on an iPhone held over our eyes whilst being recorded by another iPhone. This then spread to recording an iPhone recording and the movement just happened from the tribal dance like music we were listening too. We felt like something need to break free. That there is a song within our bodies that perhaps gets muted and desensitised the more we use our smart phones. We moved with the the phones over our eyes and without. You can interpret this a few ways - is it just a weird dream of some alternate simulation?! Is it about our perhaps unhealthy relationship with our iPhones/smart phones seeing the world through nothing but our screens or is it just a literal idea. You can decide because we are not quite sure. :-) • • • The idea of a 1 video every week came about because we both wanted to stop procrastinating and making excuses as to why 'good ideas' weren't being seen through.
