This is the 2nd chapter of a three part series of our trip to Death Valley National Park. 5 AWDs and 20 4WDs are sent into the crucible! We take my Honda Passport, 3 Subaru Outbacks, a Discovery sport, Full-sized Ford and Ram trucks, and a lot of the usual dedicated off-road vehicles through the rocky Mengel Pass trail. Watch part 1 here:    • Death Valley/Goler Canyon: Passport, Outba...   According to trailsoffroad.com, Mengel Pass is rated as a level 4 for dedicated offroad vehicles. This means that it's a moderate 4WD trail that 1 level away from being considered "difficult". For an AWD this trail will be difficult/severe. No matter what you drive, you should be an experienced off-roader because trail damage is a big possibility. I highly recommend you don't trail alone, especially in a place called death valley (it lives up to it's name). Bring extra food and water, and go prepared. As of November of 2011, 6 people have died this year, don't be one of them!
