These two brands and models are in my opinion the best trombones made for the price point. I feel the Getzen is unequalled in the "student" market for its build and capabilities. If Getzen made a budget horn to fit between a Conn 6H and King 3B....I'd say this is as close as it gets. It's peppy and quick to respond. Professional Mike Innes from the UK has a youtube review of the Getzen and has great things to say about it. I'm not knocking the Yamaha, it's a fine all around tenor that is very competent, but for jazz.....the Getzen out performs the Yamaha in a similar price point.
