(230906) Indian saints aren't doing anything special. They just connect with their True Self and stay within their True Self 24 hours a day. That's all you need to do as well. You don’t have to do anything else. Meeting your True Self and abiding within your True Self is the most sacred and noble act that a human can do and the best service that can be given to God. Since this is talking with Conscience out of the picture, there's nothing more than existing within God's presence. If you abide within your True Self and do the 6 Perfections, you become what Hinduism considers God. Just by abiding within your True Self, you becomes a saint, or a jnani in Hinduism terms. So you must understand that just the fact of abiding within your True Self is a tremendous deal, and that you are doing a noble thing. If you think lightly of this, your spiritual practice will really struggle. I really wanted to emphasize this: if you think lightly of abiding within your True Self, your practice will struggle. If you only fixate on Conscience, you'll end up getting wrecked by Conscience. What happens is that you only get good at criticizing others, but you yourself don't change. And so, the mental breakdown follows. "Why did I even try to study Conscience in the first place?" The self image in your imagination and your actual self in reality become too different. I mean, if you really only studied Conscience every single day, your 6 Perfection skills should be like max level. And also, if you only fixate on Conscience, you become more attentitive to others. You realize that everyone is just trash. "Hey, everyone here except me. When are you going to become human?" It really becomes like this. You fall into delusion. But even then, it's okay. Even then, if you "don't know!" and abide within your True Self, a lot of this gets purified. If the True Self abidance step is missing, then this study can really go astray. That's why abiding within your True Self is fundamental. It's not supposed to be done through sheer willpower. You're supposed to use your True Self's, God's power. But instead, people literally try to become God by themselves through sheer willpower, without any connection to God in the first place. If the ego begins to delude itself into thinking that it is becoming a God-like being equipped with all the 6 Perfections, that person's spritual study will go completely astray. Always, humbly, whether life is feeling difficult or life is feeling smooth, return to your True Self again. Quiet the ego's voice by submerging it in your True Self and rest. That makes the ego becomes more mature. Then go out and practice a bit by facing the world. Just like this, we study by alternating one yin and one yang. Practice in the outer world, and then again, withdraw to the inner world. Melt what I experienced from outside into the inner world of the True Self, then gain new intuition and observe how my mind changes. When you are hanging out with your True Self, your default programming changes, and so your soul will change. When you do "don't know!", it may seem like nothing much at first. At the beginning, it doesn't feel like I gain any knowledge or anything when I abide within my True Self, right? But actually, if you abide in that place, since your default program changes, your thoughts and also your soul changes to become more aligned with the 6 Perfections. Since the program that is running within me changes, the ego changes. The ego becomes wiser, more compassionate, and more aligned with the 6 Perfections. And so, even while ignoring all this Conscience stuff and only abiding in the Truth of Existence, a person's character changes and they get called a saint. But if you actually consciously cultivate it, the degree of change will become drastic and you can become a God-like existence. So, just by abiding within the True Self, that alone directly becomes the intuition of the truth, and that directly becomes the cultivation of my compassion and all the good virtues of the 6 Perfections. Therefore, just by remaining within the True Self, all this cultivation is taking place. That's why when our Joseon ancestors studied mindfulness, they divided it into 'not yet activated' mindfulness, which is holding on to the True Self, and 'already activated' mindfulness which is introspecting our Conscience. Practicing the 'not yet activated' state was called cultivation and practicing the 'already activated' state was called introspection. And they said the thing that is being cultivated is the principle of love, justice, harmony, and wisdom. Our Seonbis already knew this. They understood that just by not thinking about anything and maintaining mindfulness, the principle of love, justice, harmony, and wisdom were continously being cultivated within me. ....
