In this opening episode, we sit down with Q7 B. Beckett, a respected Bushman (San) leader and Pathfinder from South Africa, to learn about the rich heritage, ancient traditions, and lived experiences of his community, one of the world’s oldest continuous cultures. Through Q7’s powerful narratives, we explore: • Who the Bushman/San people are • Their deep and sacred relationship with land, nature, and wildlife • Cultural values shaped by survival, coexistence, and community wisdom • How ancient ecological knowledge continues to guide modern life • The central role of storytelling, spirituality, and ancestral memory This episode provides a rare, authentic glimpse into a culture that has preserved its identity and resilience for thousands of years. It is a journey into belonging, harmony with nature, and the enduring spirit of a community deeply rooted in the Earth. Currently an Artist in Residence at the Sanskriti Museum, Hazaribagh, Q7 B. Beckett travels across India with the support of the PALEOHER Foundation (Vadodara, Gujarat). His mission is to engage with Indigenous societies, explore shared cultural roots, exchange stories of survival, and seek long-distance relatives of the global Bushman family. This cross-cultural exploration blends identity, survival, sustainability, community memories, and spirituality, offering viewers a powerful connection between Africa and India’s ancient Indigenous worlds.
