Today, I am taking a ride out to see the site of a plane crash. It's about one hour east of Dubai, let's take a look, but it's no place for a picnic. Ten or so years ago, the people in the small village of Al Awir were awakened from their sleep by the sound of an aeroplane falling from the sky. Or were they? There is no offical explanation of why or how this 'plane ended up at Al Awir. Walking through the small fuselage, to see the cockpit and the smashed canopy is is a little bit eerie. You should also be prepared to see livestock walking around the roads. Goats are common, as are camels. These three wandered down the road, soon to be pursued by their owner. Here is the locaton, on google maps https://goo.gl/maps/55EAh9yxdxKuojmN9 RocDoc Revived shows some of the more unusual and different places to discover in Dubai and the nearby Emirates, in a laid back & informative way. I travel about Dubai, UAE (United Arab Emirates), visiting adventure locations, oasis, wadis, desert, mountains, fountains,, forts, museums, art events, geology and archeology sites, exploring the history and culture of this amazing country. I hope you enjoy visiting RocDoc Revived. Please subscribe so that you get notified when there are more videos to watch. I plan to upload new videos every week (or more frequently if I have material). Logo & Name. The RocDoc Revived logo is a motorcycle/motorbike helmet, resting on a geological hammer and surmounted by a GoPro camera. RocDoc is an informal name for a geologist which is what I am. Why Revived? Because I have upped stakes and moved from UK to Dubai; recovered from Covid and enjoy riding my motorcycle/motorbike on these amazing wide open roads.
