Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk was rushed off stage during the Netherland’s Liberation Day celebrations as an ignited flare was thrown at him and his Dutch counterpart. Tusk attended the event to commemorate Polish soldiers who took part in liberating the Netherlands from Nazi occupation. During his speech at the Liberation Day celebration in the Netherlands, Donald Tusk touched on the history of the partnership between Poland and the Netherlands, particularly on the prominent role that Polish soldiers played in battles to free multiple Dutch cities during World War II. Tusk also stressed the need for continued close cooperation to ensure Europe’s security and future.
