Jacksonville Fire Rescue responds to not only One, but Two shrimp boats on fire

JFRD responded to a boat fire in our local little fish town. Upon arrival, not only was there one docked shrimp boat on fire, but on this windy night, the boat docked along with it had auto-ignited as well. It was cold and windy...access was difficult down a long ramp to the dock. A marine unit was brought in to fight it from the waterside of the boat. positioning was difficult for this fire as we only had a narrow runway to work on...weather was cold with a good amount of wind to deal with...and the water supply and hose lay were long and drawn out. We were not able to board the boat and fight this fire, all efforts had to be from the exterior...the fire also had multiple means of escape once water was shot into any opening as it would run and pop out of another hole. Finally, the pump systems were down, so as we put water in, we were filling the hull and the boat was "listing"...unfortunately for the boat owners, both boats ended up sinking right where they were...there was no way for us to prevent this. Fortunately, there were no injuries due to this fire... Sit back and watch this RAW footage.
