Biji Anchal | 30 July 2021 വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ വർദ്ധനവ് • As reminded by Peter in his first epistle, the spiritual positions we have in Christ are very important to the believer. • We are born again to an incorruptible inheritance kept for us. To those born-again believers, he asks to lay our burdens on Christ. • These believers will go through various trials and tribulations. Yet, we are to remain humble, seated at Jesus’ feet. • Being seated is not just to remain in prayer. There will come testing of our faith as well. • It is like gold in the fire; the goldsmith watches it intently for the right time to take it out before it liquifies. • Peter was told by Jesus he would be tested, but he should stand firm. This testing is not to break us but to build us. God does not try us with evil. It is to shape us and pour into us a greater anointing. • The disciples once asked Lord to increase their faith. He replied I cannot do it. You have been given a mustard seed of faith already, and it is up to you to sow it. It requires effort. • Unless that seed falls to the ground and dies, breaks open, it cannot bear much fruit. • The sower is patient. He does not see the result of his faith proclamation immediately. We have to wait; the Lord makes it grow. • 1 Pe 1: 5 …who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. • No evil can befall us because we are kept by God’s power- through faith • Not only should we be saved -- that is only the first step. But growth is next. We must grow in faith. • Noah built the ark by faith, and that ark was designed by God Himself. That is why when the storms came, he was safe in it. • We have nothing to fear because we are shielded by God’s power by faith. That faith quenches all fiery darts of the wicked one. This Word is a double-edged sword to cut through the enemy’s works. • When Paul was tossed about in the ship, God sent His angel to encourage him – be bold, you will not die. • Therefore, Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation • 1 Pe 2: you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. • There are 4 aspects- • You are an elected people • Royal priesthood • Holy people • God’s own people • We are that royal priest; the holy house is our body. We are carrying the blood of Jesus and boldly entering the holy of holies. • We will face trouble, mockery, and rejection in this life from worldly, senseless people. We must be willing to deny ourselves, and offer ourselves as a living sacrifice. This is our priestly ministry. • The priest carries the blood into the holy of holies. • We are an elected people, separated from the world. • Every trouble in life must be faced with this attitude- we are a royal priesthood, a chosen people. Then we can overcome. • Jesus Himself asked the disciples, why could you not handle this situation yourself? You have been given the authority! Now exercise it. • With this anointing for growth, we will be changed. We cannot remain the same. • So crave spiritual milk, the Word. Lord, give me a spiritual increase! • So when the devil roams about like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour, don’t fear – we are redeemed, we are established in the faith. Resist him, and he will flee. We have overcome him already. • Lord, increase my faith!
