Yet another one of my small; intimate; involved; curious; born-from-pentimento-technique filmic poems/musical meditations--made by me, and sent from me, "with love from me to you" (to quote The Beatles). I hope you enjoy, and I hope it means something (even just a little something)... - - - This project was born from an interesting prompt assigned by a brilliant film teacher of mine, in which case her prompt--adopted from past legendary artists--came from the notion of constructing a poem(s) from already written/published words. (A shorter way of saying: taking various texts and aligning them side by side to create a new written work.) After rummaging through a handful of different writings--all heavily unrelated to each other, with subtle musical facets showing face (by coincidence) between the texts--I ended up with the following words juxtaposed side-by-side on a sheet of copy paper (with the title to follow being organically created through this artful practice as well): *** . . . music to go where you do Time was when you were bathing. On a boat deck, A guitar sounds more meaningful. In temple, Curved. These, practically unframed for an un uncluttered Suite in July—but you couldn’t buy a garden. A balalaika’s individuality comes through view, Snug-fitting, almost as good as eyelids at keeping out— Them. There’s proof here that time, with new impact, If you carry a TV-set in a picnic, glare and dust, Pastel lenses: pale-rose, blue, violet, lemon... Is past. Subtle ingredients above. *** So--with this odd and unique grouping of terms, I give you a budgetless adaptation, and with it (I hope), a palpable and honest sample of sentiment.
