Want more railtours? • Preserved Stock and Railtours Want more trains from London Marylebone? • Trains at London Marylebone Recording times: 22 February 2026: 16.24 → 17.57 Notices: On 22 Feb 2026, Chiltern Railways and the Branch Line Society ran the MK3 Farewell Tour weeks after Chiltern unveiled their new Mk5 coaching stock and Class 68 locomotives, previously used by Transpennine Express. It marked the imminent end to typical revenue earning services using the iconic British Rail Mark 3 carriage in England. The sets were first introduced as part of Intercity 125 operations in the mid-1970s, however many examples also worked with standard diesel and electric locomotives, as is seen here, with the GWR Night Riviera sleeper service being the last operation using the coaches in England and the Class 43 INTER7CITY sets being the last remaining in Scotland.
