#ShampooFormulation #HealthyHairTips #SoapVsShampooOnHair #HairScience #HardWaterHair #SoapOnHair Soap vs shampoo isn’t an opinion war — it’s chemistry. Here’s what soap is doing to your hair over time (pH, minerals, cuticle + friction). Soap on hair is one of the biggest debates online because a lot of people get good results at first… until they don’t. In this video, we skip the drama and look at what hair is actually experiencing with soap vs shampoo — chemically, structurally, and over time. Hair isn’t skin. It’s a fiber with layered cuticles, and those layers respond hard to pH, hard water minerals, and surface deposits. Most true soaps are alkaline, which can lift the cuticle and raise friction — and friction turns into tangles, roughness, static, and breakage. Add hard water, and soap can react with calcium/magnesium to create that dull, draggy “soap scum” film. Then we get practical: I formulate a conditioning cream shampoo paste — a thick, scoopable cleanser designed for hair (not a thin shampoo, and not soap). While I make it, I explain what each ingredient is doing for cleansing, slip, thick paste structure, and long-term hair feel — and I finish with a texture reveal + quick demo so you can see what hair-designed cleansing looks like.
