Homemade Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad | From Supermarket to Sizzle Once you taste a real homemade Caesar dressing, you'll never go back to bottled again. In this episode of Supermarket to Sizzle, I take simple supermarket ingredients and turn them into a restaurant-quality classic: Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad with homemade croutons and a from-scratch Caesar dressing. We’re building flavor at every step — crispy garlic croutons, juicy rosemary butter chicken, and a creamy Caesar dressing made the traditional way. If you’ve only had Caesar salad from a bottle, this version will completely change your mind. I post a new Supermarket to Sizzle episode every Thursday, so subscribe and cook along with me. Ingredients Caesar Dressing US Metric 4 cloves garlic 4 cloves garlic 1/3 cup grapeseed oil 80 ml grapeseed oil 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 25 g parmesan salt to taste black pepper to taste Grilled Chicken US Metric 1 chicken breast (split in half) 1 chicken breast (butterflied) 1 knob butter 15 g butter 3 sprigs rosemary 3 sprigs rosemary grapeseed oil 1 tbsp (15 ml) salt to taste black pepper to taste Homemade Croutons US Metric 1/2 loaf Italian bread 200 g Italian bread grapeseed oil 2 tbsp (30 ml) salt to taste black pepper to taste Salad US Metric 4 romaine lettuce 4 romaine hearts 1/4 cup parmesan cheese 25g Instructions 1. Make the Croutons Cut half a loaf of Italian bread into bite-size cubes. Toss with grapeseed oil, salt, and pepper. Bake at 400°F / 204°C for 10 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Set aside to cool. 2. Cook the Chicken Season the chicken breast with oil, salt and pepper. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add grapeseed oil. Place the chicken in the pan and cook 2 min each side. Add a knob of butter, 4 cloves garlic and three sprigs of rosemary to the pan and baste the chicken with the herb and melted butter as it finishes cooking. Cook until the chicken reaches 165°F / 74°C internal temperature, then remove and rest before slicing. 3. Make the Caesar Dressing Finely mince four cloves of garlic. In a bowl combine: Garlic Grapeseed oil Grated parmesan Salt Black pepper Whisk until the dressing becomes smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. 4. Build the Salad Chop the romaine lettuce and place it in a large bowl. Add the Caesar dressing and toss until the lettuce is evenly coated. Top with: Homemade croutons Sliced grilled chicken Extra shaved parmesan Serve immediately. Final Thoughts A great Caesar salad is all about balance — creamy dressing, crisp lettuce, crunchy croutons, and perfectly cooked chicken. Making the dressing and croutons from scratch transforms this classic into something truly special.
