Free Lesson PDF link: https://bit.ly/visualizethefretboard What you SEE or VISUALIZE when you look down at your fretboard is directly connected to your current level of fretboard knowledge. In this video I explore 3 levels of fretboard Visualization: 1) SHAPE, 2) ROOT knowledge and 3) NOTE knowledge of the chord Dm7. The more levels (or perspectives ) you have when looking at this chord, the more you are FREE to play it with confidence and even create some licks around the chord at will. When knowledge of one musical idea is CONNECTED logically to another musical idea, learning the guitar (and specifically the fretboard) is a much easier task than using random concepts with no understanding of how "everything in music is connected". When visualizing a chord, start with the SHAPE then learn the ROOT of that chord and then learn the NOTES of the chord. Each step is easier with mastery of the previous step. I apologize for the focusing issue (if you noticed it). I'll make sure it's fixed for Part 2 & 3.
