If you find anything helpful or like something ► please SHARE it! ____________________ Designed Fabrics Product Overview| Phifer Inc. __________________ Hi, I am Hugo Benitez, National Market Manager for our Design Fabrics Division. In my 28-year Phifer career, I have spent most of the last 20 years involved in our Design Fabric Division. Phifer began weaving vinyl coated polyester products in 1980 in an effort to entering a new woven market would have a different peak production season compared to our insect screen season. We began with a solid yellow and white fabric that was sold to the outdoor furniture market. Since that humble beginning, our division has diversified greatly and we now weave many fabrics for a wide variety of markets. These include outdoor sling fabrics, indoor/outdoor high performance cushion fabrics, wall covering and flooring contract fabrics, and marine and awning fabrics. We have even developed many niche markets, including fabrics for children's daycare centers, all types of bags, track and field jump pits, and pool fences just to name a few. Our Design Fabrics Division offers fabrics products in three different groups which you can view in detail here in our website. First, Phifertex is our main product line for vinyl coated polyester fabrics. Some of the important attributes of vinyl coated polyester yarn include strength, durability and clean-ability. Combined with a mass spectrum of colors and designs, it's easy to understand why Phifertex is the product of the choice for so many different applications. Phifertex products are built to withstand the elements and we back this fabric with a three year warranty. All of our Phifertex meets or exceeds 1200 QUV hours, the standard weathering test for outdoor fabrics to determine protection against the sun's rays. The sling market is one of our largest segments in Phifertex, where we offer many different weaves, textures and constructions for use in outdoor chairs. While we sell a great deal of stock fabrics, we also weave custom patterns for our customers as well. The ability to weave custom products has allowed us to develop specific looks for certain markets. For example, Phifer has developed fabrics for flooring, both in the contract market and for the marine markets. Secondly, GeoBella is our brand name for indoor/outdoor performance fabrics. Made of 100% recyclable yarns, it is ideal when used for indoor throw pillows or outdoor furniture cushions. The GeoBella line offers plus, durable and comfortable fabrics for many types of decorative applications. These fabrics are also resistant to fading, bacteria, mold, mildew and odor. GeoBella is now being offered by Phifer in a new cut yardage program. This will allow more decorators to have access to our many designs in our line. The minimum order is ten lineal yards and you can contact us on our site regarding which fabric is of interest to you and we can respond with a price. Our third product group is known as our Murotex line. This fabric is sold to the commercial market as a wall covering panel and upholstery option. One feature that sets it apart from other fabrics is that these fabrics is made Dow ecolibrium formulations. Dow ecolibrium allows us to productive a bio based versus petroleum based vinyl formulation, which yields a much greener and environmentally friendly fabric. It's important to note that many of our products are Greenguard certified for superior indoor air quality performance.
