• Joshua Tree Sends Anthony, Tydeman and I met up in Joshua Tree to get our hands on some sharp granite. First we went to Mystical Vibrations (V5). Anthony sent it second go and I got it after working all the moves and taking several falls. Then we journeyed to Yabba Dabba Don't Boulder (V3). We ended up at Hobbit Hole Offwidth (V0) where Anthony and I climbed the boulder via the easier layback method. I tried this V2 slab next door called Patina and we headed out of The Outback. We wanted to go to the Meadows boulder next, but it was very crowded so the next logical step was to park nearby and visit The Hang. At The Hang Anthony quickly got up The Halfling (V1+), which I found much harder for my skill level/box. I finally sent it after many many tries, which pretty much destroyed my right arm. Anthony did the dyno for the right version of The Real Slam Dunk (which you can see on his channel: • Real Slam Dunk V3 Joshua Tree Nationa... . At the Meadows I realized that my day was done when my arm started spasming on Sloper Safari (V4). To top off the day Anthony went and tried Saturday Night Live (V4). He stuck the dyno but couldn't complete the mantle. Anthony and Tydeman left that night, but I wanted to stay an extra morning, so I camped in my car overnight. Day 2, I went back to the Outback to try Patina and realized my right arm was still decimated from the previous day. I discovered this impressive-looking highball called Blatant Disregard for Human Safety (V1 R). It looked easy enough, and its beauty called out to me. I was by myself and I didn't want to take a bad fall alone so I sussed out some of the moves, chalked up this blind hold near the crux and was able to climb it in what I felt was the safest possible way. After that, I went over to Ryan's campground and tried some easy problems until I couldn't move my arms anymore.
