Kamloops 50 – Cycling Adventure!

This is a cycling video to be used with an indoor stationary bike trainer or just for your viewing pleasure. This ride was done on the 27th of June 2022 and was part of my summer sojourn in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. From my temporary quarters in North Kamloops on Tranquille Road, I rode east to get to the Rivers Trail northbound along the North Thompson River. Where the trail ended I moved up to Westsyde Road and continued north until turning east on Kyle Drive. Kyle Drive veers left to become Bank Road which I followed all the way to Harrington Road. Turning right on Harrington I took it east until going north on Overlander Drive. Then I turned left off Overlander Drive onto Dunes Drive to take a nice jaunt through the Dunes golf course. (32:07) On the other end of the golf course I proceeded south on Westsyde Road taking a little detour at Parkview Drive for some hill work, then right onto Grasslands Blvd for the real hill work. I followed Grasslands all the way to its end for a nice view of the Kamloops Valley. (59:18) Backtracking a bit on Red Tail Crescent, I turned right to go southbound down Bachelor Hill Drive picking up some serious classified speed in the process. (1:01:16) At the bottom of the hill I turned right onto Ord Road to go west until it turns into Tranquille Road out by the airport. I continued west on Tranquille getting treated to some friendly waving passengers on a train going by. (1:19:29) I went as far as the old Tranquille Sanatorium then turned around and took a break up the hill a little bit on Tranquille-Criss Creek Road. (1:28:51) I came back east on Tranquille Road past the airport and into town turning south onto Desmond Street. Desmond connects to Happyvale Ave which connects to Singh Street which takes you to the bike path onto McArthur Island Park. I scooted across the middle of the park then picked up the path again turning right off of MacKenzie Ave across the bridge. The bike path comes out at Royal Ave which I took southeast to Knox Street then Knox back to Tranquille. 50 km almost exactly! For something a little different, I put in some inspirational music from the YouTube music library; should you want to listen in while riding. It was a beautiful morning in Kamloops with majestic scenery for a fantastic ride. Hope you enjoy it. Bike Hard!
