As an Army veteran, former police officer, and construction worker, Jack brings a deep sense of service to every community. His message focuses on respecting utility marks and understanding the serious consequences of not following safe digging procedures. Filmed at the Toledo Zoo, Jack shares his passion for educating youth about safe digging and proudly supports OHIO811’s student education program. One of his favorite things is traveling to schools and kids' day events with OHIO811 mascots, Sammy and Suzy Shovel, making safety lessons engaging and memorable for communities across the state. Want to schedule a free safety talk or learn more about damage prevention education? Our Liaison team is ready to help. OHIO811’s Public Awareness & Services Coordinators (Liaisons) facilitate understanding amongst stakeholders to foster cooperation amongst stakeholders. Liaisons collaborate directly with utility owners, municipalities, excavators, utility locators, and the public to promote public safety through safe excavation. As part of the Public Education and Outreach team, Liaisons serve the underground damage prevention community by delivering free safety presentations, excavator seminars, and community outreach events and partnerships. OHIO811 Liaisons are actively engaged in Ohio’s six Damage Prevention Councils (DPCs) / Utility Safety Councils and five Utility Coordinating Councils (UCCs), supporting ongoing communication in the field. Call OHIO811 before you dig. And visit OHIO811.org to learn more.
