Speeded up x6! Villa San Giovanni to Messina via the incredible Straits of Messina train ferry!
Here is a video I took on 4/11/2022 of a journey across the Straits of Messina (between Villa San Giovanni and Messina) on the train ferry run by RFI/Trenitalia. This is the only place in Europe where you can go on a passenger train ferry. You stay on the train as the it is shunted on, but can get off to walk around the ferry. I sped up the video x6 as there is quite alot of palava to split the trains up, then shunt them onto the ferry at walking pace. It takes between two and three hours between arriving at one station and leaving the one on the other side of the strait. It is quite an experience and definately one I would recommend.
