As part of the Fall 2025 Advance RI-CTR Implementation Science Seminar series, Greg Rosen, PhD, MSPH spoke on "Choice-Based Conjoint Methods to Identify Implementation Priorities and Strategy Preferences to Guide HIV and Substance Use Service Delivery" on October 21st, 2025. User-centered design and choice-based conjoint approaches (e.g., discrete choice experiments, best-worst scaling) have become increasingly popular in public health research. This presentation will cover applications of human-centered design and discrete choice experiments in public health scholarship. The presentation content will specifically emphasize case studies of implementation research projects in South Africa and the United States. About the Speaker: Joseph “Greg” Rosen is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology (Research) at Brown University and a Research Scientist in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Rhode Island Hospital. Greg leads and contributes to research at the intersection of HIV treatment/prevention and substance use services globally. His research broadly harnesses health workforce capacity-enhancement strategies and health system reconfigurations to optimize delivery of HIV and harm reduction services to marginalized populations, with attention to mobile and transient populations (i.e., sex workers, people who use drugs, justice-involved persons) in sub-Saharan Africa and the United States.
