ABOUT MI CHACRA ..."In his first feature film, "Mi Chacra," director Jason Burlage delves deep into the life of a porter on the Inca Trail. Uncovering a little-seen way of life in the Andes, Burlage follows Feliciano, a descendant of indigenous subsistence farmers high in Peru's Sacred Valley. " Jason Burlage was born in Waterloo, Iowa, and raised in a small town in southeast Idaho. He studied film in the Media and Theatre Arts program at Montana State University. Jason's first feature documentary, "Mi Chacra," chronicles a year in the life of an indigenous Peruvian farmer who works as a porter on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The film has screened at a dozen international film festivals in seven different countries, won the Grand Prize at the 2010 Banff Mountain Film Festival, and is being distributed by PBS International. http://www.michacrafilm.com/
