Follow firefighter Steve Moore on one of his toughest challenges to date - completing the 2025 London Marathon in full fire gear and a breathing apparatus (BA) set. At 54 years old, with 23 years of service at Edmonton Fire Station, Steve is no stranger to endurance. Just last year, he ran to all 300 London Fire Brigade stations in five days. But this challenge tested him in entirely new ways. Wearing full kit in 20°C heat, Steve tackled the weight, heat retention, and restricted airflow of BA, with cylinder changeovers every 2 miles, coordinated by a rotating crew of LFB colleagues. He was joined on the route by firefighters Sebastian and Sarah, who ran the full 26.2 miles alongside him, offering physical and emotional support. This film isn’t just about a marathon. It’s about the togetherness and determination that define London Fire Brigade. From his watch at Edmonton Fire Station to the Comms team, press, senior leadership, and right up to the Commissioner, every department rallied behind Steve. The day itself was a celebration of London’s spirit - thousands lining the route, cheering every participant on. That support, combined with the deep camaraderie across the Brigade, helped carry Steve through the toughest stretch between miles 18 and 20. Steve took on this challenge to raise money for The Firefighters Charity, an organisation close to his heart. Following a serious mountain bike accident, he received rehab support through the charity, and this run was his way of giving back. You’ll hear from Steve before, during and after the event - sharing his mindset, training, the brutal demands of running in fire kit, and the emotional moment he crossed the line. Weeks later, he reflects on what it meant. This is a story of resilience, unity, and what it means to be part of something bigger. ➡️ Donate or find out more: https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk 00:00 Opening 00:33 Steve Moore Intro 02:13 London Marathon 2025 03:45 Cylinder change over 06:00 Mile 20 07:06 Debrief with Steve 09:26 Subscribe #LondonFireBrigade #LondonMarathon #FirefighterChallenge #TheFireFightersCharity #LFB2025 #BAChallenge
