Rather than continue on with Totenkopf SDL (which has been giving me problems when I try to record footage), I'm going to go back in time to play another mod by the same author, one that truly made me a fan of his work: Coming of the Storm. It was the first mod where Wolf Skevos-Jones composed all his own music, and is one of his most recognized works. Most people's favorite of WSJ's TCs was CotS, even though it is chronologically one of the last in the series. I first got exposed to it when zirblazer started making Wolf3D videos a thing, and, in fact, it's what got me into making videos myself. While Totenkopf SDL is in every way superior, CotS does a damn good job for all the technical restrictions it has. Most, if not all, of the weapons available in Totenkopf SDL can be found in CotS. What CotS lacks in the technical prowess department, it makes up for with its enemies, who all have distinct personalities, and yes, they speak authentic German. Most of the time when I play Wolf3D, I do Pistol Only runs. I only do that to put a fun twist on what's been done before a dozen times, since Wolf3D enemies are rather easy to kill in two or three hits, and I'll never beat zirblazer's 100% speedrun abilities. Since Wolf3D mods are themselves fun twists, few people cover them, and they often include new weapons and enemies that I'd miss out on if I ran Pistol Only, I'll play them straight to keep it fun for everyone. Doing Pistol Only in CotS would be suicide anyway once I started doing runs of the later levels, since the new Waffen SS enemies start appearing everywhere to make life a living hell, and Trans Grosse clones are common miniboss enemies from level 3 onward. Incidentally, though, this is what happens when I stop handicapping myself. Things die.
