Original listing and sheet music here: https://musescore.com/user/36482158/s... I would rate this raggy fox trot as one of my favorite fox trots. There's some great writing here, but we can't find any other published pieces by this composer. Published in 1915 by Jerome H. Remick in New York when the fox trot was still a new craze. I asked Musescore researcher Erlingl if he could find any info on Laurence E. Goffin, and he did find a few things. Lawrence Goffin was born in Connecticut in 1894. He was a pianist and musician. Resided in the New York/New Jersey area during 1913-1923. In 1923 he married and also moved to California, where he ran the Cat's Meow Music Shop on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. He was also pianist with "the famous Bill Fleckenstein Jazz Orchestra". In 1925 he is mentioned as a well-known radio artist of Hollywood. Between 1926 and 1936 Larry E. Goffin copyrighted a number of songs, in a few cases also furnishing the lyrics. In 1938 is mentioned as a musician living in Los Angeles, but seems to drop out of sight after that time. That same year he got divorced and was said to have spent some time in a sanatorium. He died in Los Angeles in 1964 at the age of 70, referred to as Larry Goffin, was also known as Larry Grant. Original score source was from the Charles Templeton Sheet Music Collection at Mississippi State University at this link: https://scholarsjunction.msstate.edu/... This is a reproduction of the original score, reformatted from four pages out to five. Thanks to JohnJ1995 for a great suggestion. #ragtime #ragtimepiano #foxtrot
