Alkalizing with Foods

Dr. Brown talks with Dr. Bess Dawson-Hughes from Tufts University about how nutrients affect bone health. Beth is researching how too much acidity in your body caused by an imbalanced diet can damage bone. She has some tips about how you can change your diet to protect your body from becoming too acidic. Remember, try to maintain a 6 to 4 ratio of fruits and vegetables to grains! Dawson who's also found that the food can make a big difference and let's hear your guys lines on that first okay so a third of the people in our study were already in the optimum range which is around neutral for acid-base balance their diets that the characteristic of having time in the half as many servings of fruits and vegetables as servants of grains specifically that that particular population was consuming over eight servings of fruits and vegetables per day mhm and five and a fraction servants of grain now the group that had the highest acid load in our two hundred and some subjects had the reverse friendship they had many more servings of grain and then fruits and vegetables so their ratio of fruit vegetable to brain was point seven so we had a racial 1.5 in the neutral group and a racial point seven in the acid Logan group interestingly in both of those segments of our population the dietary protein intake which is of course the source of writing was constant the dairy servings per day was constant in those so you didn't have that you didn't have to adjust by protein or dairy you could simply look at the vegetable intake food vegetables and the grains right so I think in order to protect bone now that maintaining a nine to six or a 62 for anything that's time and a half you know...
