A 4 mile route from Whinlatter Visitor Centre showing the Seat How Summit Trail. This Trail is great for families with some steep sections but is suitable for all age groups with relative fitness. I also include part of The Combe Beck Trail following Combe Gill tumbling it's way through the forest to reach a secluded dam and pond which is nice to sit and have a picnic. The Trail is on good tracks and takes you through carpets of green moss and lichen covered coniferous trees of spruce. larch, cedar, cypress and hemlock to reach a viewpoint on Seat How overlooking the forest and surrounding valleys and mountains. Parking is free for 1st 20 mins, then £2.50 for an hour then 50p for every 15 mins. Maximum £8 all day. Membership is £55 annually to park at no extra cost and other benefits and for an extra £10 this can Inc Grizedale Forest.
