“Jesus, knowing that they were about to come and seize him to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain all alone.” —John 6:15. After miraculously feeding thousands with five loaves and two fish, the crowd wanted to force Jesus to become their king—likely to lead a rebellion against Roman rule. But Jesus decisively withdrew. He refused to be drawn into the politics of the Jews or any earthly power struggle. This was no small decision. By accepting kingship, he would have entangled himself in worldly politics. Instead, he chose isolation on the mountain, showing complete neutrality. Later, he declared plainly: “My Kingdom is no part of this world” (John 18:36). He repeated that his followers are “no part of the world” (John 17:14). Jesus’ example is crystal clear: Christians do not participate in the political systems of this world. Today, no one will ask us to multiply bread or become a literal king. But we face similar pressure: Urged to vote, campaign, voice support for candidates, or back movements that promise to “fix” society. Jesus’ withdrawal teaches us to resist—even when it seems the “right” or “compassionate” choice. Our focus must remain on God’s Kingdom: supporting it through preaching, witnessing about it, and praying for it to come (Matthew 6:10—“Let your Kingdom come”). In this video, explore: Why the crowd wanted Jesus as king—and why he refused How Jesus’ neutrality protected his mission and set the pattern for Christians The modern pressures to get politically involved—and why Jesus’ example guides us to stay separate Practical ways to mirror Jesus: Avoid voting, political activism, or partisan support The positive focus: Preach the good news of God’s Kingdom and pray fervently for its rule Encouragement: Staying neutral draws us closer to Jehovah and keeps us united worldwide If you’ve ever felt torn about politics or wondered how to respond to calls to “make a difference” through voting, this Scripture brings clarity and strength. Jesus set the perfect example—let us imitate him by staying no part of this world, fully devoted to Jehovah’s Kingdom.JW DAILY TEXT LESSON Animations and visual elements in this video were originally created and carefully edited by this channel.
